The Mapwerks Appliance Server 2100 - MAS 2100 base system comes with base map data. The geo/spatial services are OGC compliant and provides application developers with the following capabilities:
Map rendering - TerraStreeMap WMS Australian Map Image data standard
Routing (optional software service extension) - enables calculation of the best route, including support for user-defined route costs and feature navigability, as well multi-modal routing (e.g., pedestrian, ferry).
Positioning - real-time integration of map information with GPS to determine position.
Customisation - the ability to edit, customize, and change the base map look and feel.
Geocoding / Reverse Geocoding - TerraCode Geocoder/Reverse Geocoder standard on MAS2100 High Performance and Premium Performance models
The MAS 2100 is ideal for performance sensitive applications requiring client-side functionality. Customers can use the MAS 2100 to serve up Web Maps to their applications on desktops and embedded systems, as well as for the Pocket PC. The MAS 2100 appliance is 100% compliant with the TerraPages OGC service oriented architecture (SOA) consisting of distributed server platforms provisioning all TerraPages Managed Web Map and geographic services. Application developers access these services via an API based on HTTP "post" or "get" requests with parameters placed directly on the URL or via an XML file.
